Job Title:  Front Desk Customer Service Representative                                                         

Reports to: Somerset County Department of Social Services   

Classification:  Full-time, non-exempt

Shift:   40 hours weekly, 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday

Salary: $15.00; & limited benefit package

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers enter Social Services
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate place
  • Assist with screening applicants for public assistance programs
  • Distribute and collect customer service surveys
  • Direct agency traffic


  • Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear speaking voice with a courteous demeanor
  • Experience in performing clerical office duties
